The world’s first auto-follow drone designed for action sports wins Engadget’s Best of CES, category Best Robot or Drone Award.
Riga, Latvia- 8th January, 2015 – The latest AirDog models were unveiled at this year’s International CES, a global consumer electronics and consumer technology trade show held in Las Vegas. AirDog is the world’s first auto-follow drone for action sports and is compatible with GoPro and Sony Action Cam.
AirDog was able to demonstrate its performance enhancing capabilities during the show via a quad bike excursion and live outdoor demos with Madars Apse, a professional skateboarder and Red Bull athlete. After an incredibly successful first few days the team were awarded with the Best of CES, Best Robot or Drone award, which goes to the drone or robot that is deemed the best of this unique category.
“We are incredibly honored and proud to receive the award for Best of CES. It’s a huge achievement for the team who have worked tirelessly to get AirDog where it needs to be,” said Edgars Rozentals CEO. “AirDog aims to provide a unique experience and offers an unmatched level of functionality for our core audience. CES was a great way to showcase our achievements and we are looking forward to next year already.”
AirDog is a small, foldable quadcopter especially designed for action sports enthusiasts, professionals and filmmakers who use GoPro cameras. Using a wearable ‘AirLeash’ Tracking Device, users can have their drone follow them around filming whatever it is they are doing – from action sports in remote locations, to filming your latest passion project.
It was able to analyze the athlete’s performance from a new perspective, capturing footage at a moment’s notice without any additional assistance required. Great for athletes and their coaches.
