Ueli Steck Eiger Speed Record 2015

Ueli Steck Reclaims The Eiger Speed Record

With news just emerging directly from Ueli’s official Facebook and Movescount pages, it appears the Swiss machine may have taken back the Eiger speed record (previously set by Dani Arnold whom broke Steck’s own record back in 2011) with a blistering time of 2:22:50 – an astonishing effort, although we suspect he may have burned more the 147 calories doing it…

His recent activity ‘cruising’ the face with the likes of Kilian Jornet didn’t go unnoticed and with the recent stable weather the face has come into ideal conditions (or as ideal as they get on the north face). Massive congratuations to Ueli and all those involved, your actions continue to inspire a generation of climbers.

We caught up with Ueli last year just after his speed record on Annapurna, if you haven’t seen it yet it’s worth a watch, Ueli has a habit of pulling out some wise words…
